THEISEN'S OF DUBUQUE

We strive to meet the needs of our customers by carrying trusted brands of merchandise at great prices with exceptional service.  The well-being of the greater Dubuque community is important to us as well and we support many organizations through our charitable giving and the Theisen’s More for Your Community grant program.

Theisen’s of Dubuque has been serving the community since its first store was opened by company founders Leo and Kathryn Theisen in 1927. The original store was located downtown on 8th Street.  In 1979, the store was relocated to its current Dodge Street and and expanded in 2003.  With continued growth, it was once again expanded in 2009.

Dubuque is situated along the Mississippi River and is the largest city in the Dubuque metropolitan area, which includes several surrounding communities in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. The city has a rich history and was founded in 1833 by Julien Dubuque, a French-Canadian fur trader.

The city hosts several annual festivals and events, such as the Dubuquefest Fine Arts Festival, the Dubuque County Fair, and the Dubuque Oktoberfest.

Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the nearby Mines of Spain State Recreation Area, which features hiking and biking trails, fishing and boating opportunities, and picnic areas. The city is also home to several parks and recreational facilities, including the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
